The EPSILON+ from flucon is a compact laboratory instrument for the precise simultaneous measurement of specific electrical conductivity, relative permittivity (εr) and dissipation factor (DDF/tan δ) in dielectric fluids and lubricants, in accordance with DIN 51 111 and DIN IEC 60247.

EPSILON+ is a compact laboratory instrument for precise measurement of the complex fluid impedance, based on DIN IEC 60247 (also DIN 51 111 test standard coming soon!).

Advanced dielectric characterization of fluids

EPSILON+ is a compact laboratory instrument designed for precise measurement of the dielectric properties of fluids. Based on impedance measurements according to DIN 51111, the system enables reliable characterization of electrical conductivity, relative permittivity, and dielectric dissipation factor (DDF/tan δ) across a wide temperature range.

As electrification continues to transform industries such as automotive, energy, and data centre cooling, understanding the electrical behaviour of fluids has become increasingly important. Modern e-drive lubricants, immersion cooling liquids, transformer oils, and specialty hydraulic fluids must meet demanding electrical performance requirements to ensure reliability, efficiency, and operational safety.

EPSILON+ provides a fast and non-destructive method for evaluating these properties using only a small sample volume. Combined with optional automated temperature control, the system allows users to study dielectric behaviour as a function of temperature and obtain highly repeatable results for research, product development, quality assurance, and condition monitoring applications
